Individual donors – cultivating mid to high-level giving
The workshop will help participants to get a better understanding of how to identify, cultivate and engage with individual donors. The emphasis will be on those with a greater ability to give and high net worth individuals. A clear distinction will be made between this type of philanthropy and community fundraising. This session was run as part of the project last year and is being offered again to enable those who were not part of the project at the time or were not able to attend, an opportunity to learn more about this topic.
The key areas covered in this workshop in relation to individual donors are: Profiling and identifying donors; Research; Planning and cultivating; and Solicitation and stewardship. The session will be run through a combination of theory, case studies and smaller group work. Role play will also be used to practice making an approach and dealing with negative responses. Reading materials and case studies will be sent to participants beforehand. There will be a small fundraising clinic at the end of the workshop to answer specific questions.
About the Presenter:
With over 11 years’ fundraising experience, successfully supporting the development of over 15 organisations at a local through to international level, I have broad knowledge of the sector and a strong skill set. I am passionate about sharing my insights and expertise, and encouraging an innovative approach to fundraising.
